Winter , holidays, and resolutions!
I wasn’t ready to put away my tank tops and shorts. I wasn’t ready to tuck away those awesomely convenient and comfy flip flops, but Mother Nature is messing with me. It’s blowing cold air around me and I’m forced to slip into my well insulated jacket (with an oversized hood, of course)! It’s that time of the year again when the leaves turn colors (I live in Vegas mind you so our seasonal happenings are slightly behind other parts of the country) and start to fall off the branches.
Unpacked are my winter clothes – scarves, gloves, jackets, sweaters, and turtlenecks. The holidays are coming up and I am looking forward to seeing people just be happy. There’s a time in the year when we just have to let go and enjoy the people we are with.
As the New Year is only a month and a half away, the resolutions start kicking in. I do have advice on this though – make your goals reasonable and obtainable. Make your goals more specific than the generic “Give more, lose weight” deal. The reason is, loose goals don’t help motivate or define the structure in achieving them. For example, try to make a goal of going to the gym “x” number of days each week. Naturally, if you stick to this goal, you will lose weight and get into shape as a natural result.
With weather in the forties, it’s not so fun to run outside for me anymore, it’s almost time to move camp indoors. Yet, I’m not a fan of treadmills either. Well, I guess this season, I may try to stick it out – so come on scarves, beanie hats, sweats, hoodies, and gloves – ready to go on a run? I know my dog Brooklyn is excited!
