Know when to hold'em. Know when to fold'em.
The amazing World Series of Poker just concluded at the Rio here in Las Vegas. After a month and a half long series of 58 tournaments, ending with the one most know about, the $10,000 buy-in Main Event, the event as a whole was just as spectacular as ever. Huge ESPN sets, rows upon rows of poker tables, thousands of people playing poker at one time, you have to see it to believe it.
I was found playing poker at the World Series and Caesars. Completing four tournaments last week, I had great results and am really happy about it. I went into those tournaments exercising patience and picked my spots to take down good pots. Being 100% committed and focused on a game makes time go by amazingly fast. I played eight hours one day and I swear it seemed like two. I'm just really tuned in when I play.
Oh, and the look. Hidden under my oversized hoody with sunglasses on, I retreat to a cave-like place when I'm at the table. It breeds focus and concentration in every single move at the table. While I can make a friend absolutely anywhere I go, when I'm at the tournament table, I'm in my own world. I'm in it to win it.
